** INFORMATION for NEW STUDENTS **

* * * * * * *LYNN’S DANCE ARTS * * * * * * *

Parents of all students must come in the first day of class to fill out INFO card and sign up for a payment schedule of either Automatic Debit from checking account, or Semester Payments for half the season, which is five months at a time. The dance season consists of two semesters: FALL SEMESTER: September throught January, and SPRING SEMESTER: February through June. The dance season runs from September (right after Labor Day) through June. Our Recital is the third weekend in June.

"Kinderdance" is our children's program. The class consists of Ballet, Tap, and basic Tumbling.
This is for ages 3 thru 5, or pre-school through Kindergarten. Sometimes new beginning 1st graders are started in this program . K-1 is three and four year olds, K-2 is four and five year olds, and K-3 is five and six year olds. The numbers usually correspond to how many years of dance they have had. Dancers need a "Dance Bag" to keep their shoes on when they change.

Dancers that are in First through Fourth Grade are offered full hour Core classes of Ballet, Jazz/ Hip Hop combined, and half hour classes of Tap. Some 1st and 2nd grader beginners may be assigned to Kinderdance if they have no previous dance training. We put either Ballet and Tap, or Jazz and Tap back to back. When possible, we offer Ballet and Jazz back to back for some age groups.

Dancers that are 5th Grade- High School age are offered full hour Core classes of Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical Ballet, Classical Ballet, Pointe, and half hour classes of Tap. We also have a Junior Dance Team (5th- 8th Grade) and Senior Dance Team (8th Grade thru High School age)that are by audition. Dancers are required to have previous and on-going training in Jazz & either Lyrical or Classical Ballet.

Lynn's Dance Arts has a program to fit your dance needs. Our "Recreational Dancer" is enrolled in one hour of class per week. The "Pre-Team Dancer" takes 2 hours of class per week. The "Team Dancer"takes 3 or more hours per week, which must include Ballet or Lyrical along with their Jazz class; this qualifies them to audition for one of our Dance Teams. We have also added a class for dancers who have started lessons at an older age called "Back to Basics" ...the goal of this class is to catch them up with their age group.

"PARENT'S DAY"
**The first week of the month is "Parents Day" and parents are welcome to observe their child's class. All other days the parents must observe from the office, so as not to disturb the students and class.
